What it takes to be a Head of Marketing at Launch

The Head of Marketing is responsible for leading the agency’s marketing and communications strategies. This individual will need to ensure that the agency, and its marketing team, are communicating consistently and effectively to its target audience to support the growth plans of the business. 

 

We’d like this person to have a keen commercial approach and will have worked in an agency – or similar organisation – where they helped to deliver a strong value proposition, an engaging calendar of events, a growing list of prospective clients managed in a robust CRM and effective solutions for showcasing brilliant work.

What you'll do...

  • Lead our content team to deliver assets and content to appeal to our target clients and sectors and support our sales strategy.
  • Oversee our website and evolve our digital presence, working closely with our website and SEO agency. 
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns to reach our target audience – outreach and lead magnet campaigns as well as newsletters and playbooks.
  • Create an overarching event schedule and sponsorship pack to appeal to our target market, within budget and with a creative approach to stand out.
  • Create account-based marketing strategies – identifying and reaching potential high-value customers, working closely with our Sales Director and SLT.
  • Build and maintain relationships with agency partners and our wider network to further our marketing impact – potentially through whitepapers and research.
  • Support the SMT to deliver their personal brand strategies for wider industry reach and recognition.
  • Working with the department heads to productise our service offerings to meet the needs of our new and existing customers based on market demand  

Key responsibilities...

  • Deliver the agency’s marketing and communications strategy to an agreed budget to meet the company revenue goals and reflect the wider agency vision and purpose of being THE happy performance marketing agency. 
  • Work with the senior leadership team to ensure our marketing is in-line with the strategic direction of the agency.
  • Be an active member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), heads of department, to support the agency growth and direction.
  • Feed into the future iteration of our strategy, to build on our success.
  • Be the guardian of our brand, ensuring our value proposition evolves, is compelling and commercially effective and that our marketing delivers to communicate it.
  • Understand the competitor landscape and update the senior team on innovations and insights that help forge our future growth.
  • Stay on top of market conditions and industry trends in performance marketing / agency landscape to enable Launch to respond and develop future business growth.  
  • Build the future internal marketing team and agency support structure.

What you'll bring...

  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies.
  • A people person with a love of building relationships & managing events.
  • Analytical skills and marketing experience to make informed decisions on where we place our marketing budget, time and efforts.
  • A hands-on approach and an ability to deliver the day to day work as well as understanding and steering the strategy behind it.
  • Creative approach to B2B marketing to help us cut through the noise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to get stuck in where we don’t yet have existing resource.
  • A blend of commercial awareness, creative thinking and a strategic mindset to drive measurable, results-based marketing.
  • Confident at presenting to key stakeholders
  • Self-awareness & desire to grow through personal and professional development.

What we’ll offer you

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 dependent on experience. Part time also considered.
